The man that made the biggest impact on my life, I don't remember...

The last 2 years of his life, were the first 2 years of mine, he was buried exactly 1 month after my 2nd birthday, and that's when my memories begin. I'm talking about my dad, he fought cancer for 2 years, and died at the age of 31, so young and taken from us too soon. Mum was 27, a widow with 3 kids aged 5, 3 and 2 years old, it's hard to fathom how hard life was for her. Growing up we didn't talk about him much, the memories were too painful for Mum, I don't remember him, I don't know much about him, It was tough growing up without him, but he has had the greatest impact on my life. My dad taught me that life is short, and to make the most of the time you have, it is the most precious gift you will ever get.
